IT’S NOT JUST ART … IT’S A PUZZLE
SCRAPERSCAPES are the work of Toronto singer/songwriter and producer Adrian Luces. SCRAPERSCAPES employ image making using photographs shot on a Smartphone. The inspiration for this work came to Adrian while working on a TV series on location in one of Toronto’s office towers in its financial district. His first piece called “Reflections” portrays the wonder of reflections on the glass of windows of office towers in downtown Toronto. In that piece, there is a hidden picture of the artist that was only discovered after the picture was taken.
SCRAPERSCAPES are part of a limited edition numbered series of metal prints at standard sizes of 24″x32″ and 36″x48″. Metal prints are made by a process called dye sublimation which infuses the image directly into the hard coating to provide lasting durability and protection. This process were found to retain colour balance as much as 4 times longer than archival photographic paper.
SCRAPERSCAPES is proud to present its COVID-19 RELIEF initiative. Proceeds from the sale of the two pieces featured below, I Love New York and I Love Toronto will go to assist the Feeding America and Food Banks Canada campaigns. Each piece has a COVID-19 RELIEF badge located at the bottom right hand corner of the image, to identify it as a SPECIAL EDITION. These special edition pieces are printed on 18″x24″ metal. Proceeds from all US sales will be donated to Feeding America and proceeds from all Canadian sales will be donated Food Banks Canada.
To date Adrian has created SCRAPERSCAPES of his hometown of Toronto, along with New York, Paris and London, as seen above. He has also created SCRAPERSCAPES of Chicago, Oslo, Seattle, Vancouver, Madrid and Munich with more to come.
